“We want to thank you so much for the work you did to ensure that we had a fabulous trip to the far North.. We even landed on a glacier in Juneau. we were thrilled.  We feel you put together such a great package for us, we traveled to so many places, traveling by all means, and saw so many beautiful sights.  THANK YOU   THANK YOU.  We have shared our experience with so many people, and even given your business card to others.  We both feel Wrangell was the highlight of the trip.  We loved the town, meeting you, and Brenda was such an excellent guide, for all 3 days (and each such a different experience).  Please tell Brenda she spoiled us, and she is tops. Thanks again, you did a fabulous job.

large ship cruises **

Most major cruise lines have ships in Alaska - Many are in our searchable datatbase and click on any of these names to link there. The more traditional large ship cruises are Carnival, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian plus the two lines that have the largest presence in Alaska - Princess and Holland America. Both Celebrity and Holland America ships boast larger cabins than the other lines and in most cabin categories this holds true though with Princess we have some wonderful specials on Mini Suites which are very spacious.

New to Alaska in 2011, Disney Cruise Line! And, returning to Alaska after many years elsewhere, luxury line Crystal Cruises is coming back!

The spring and fall sailings are off peak and so generally offer the best pricing with several specials on most traditional large ship cruise lines and prices begin at $499** per person including port charges for inside (no window) cabins*.  Another terrific early season special is for a Jr. Suite on the first north bound May sailing at $1199 per person.**

Many of Holland America ships are actually in the mid-sized category though they are included here so that you can use the database to search for the perfect itinerary.   These "smaller" large ships are a wonderful way to see Alaska in a traditional elegant cruising style. Holland America ships are always highly rated in the "readers polls" of major travel magazines as well as by their customer satisfaction rates.  Most Holland America ships in Alaska  carry between 1372-1432 passengers while their largest carry slightly over 1900.  Alaska Cruises & Vacations has some terrific specials on Holland America! Search our database and compare prices on Alaska cruises! For ALL Holland's most current specials to all destinations click Holland America Specials!

Princess has the most balcony cabins available in Alaska on some of the most innovative ships - and holds the most permits for Glacier Bay. EMAILfor Princess information as their dates and itineraries are not set up in the searchable database. (We are working on an on-line searchable way to include them!) We have some terrific specials on balcony cabins starting at just $1199.00** per person including the port charges Princess offers the popular "Gulf of Alaska - Voyage of the Glaciers" itinerary beginning in Vancouver and ending in Whittier, near Anchorage with stops in Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway and two awesome glacier cruising days in Glacier Bay and College Fjord.  This makes a perfect start to a full Alaskan itinerary including a custom land tour.

  • Day 1 - Depart the contemporary city of Vancouver British Columbia
  • Day 2 - Cruising the scenic Inside Passage
  • Day 3 - Ketchikan Alaska  - Alaska's "First City" as you cruise north.  Ketchikan, like many other Inside Passage island communities has no road access, flying or boating is the only way to get here!  Popular sport fishing town with a variety of shops, many of which are locally owned and open year round.
  • Day 4 - Cruise Tracy Arm and stop at Juneau Alaska - Alaska's capital city!  The highlight of Tracy Arm is the Twin Sawyer Glaciers!  In Juneau, though over the years there have been many movements to seat the government where there is more access, Juneau maintains the capital.  Juneau is on the mainland but still has no road access due to environmental challenges like rivers and glaciers that surround the area!  Popular activity here is flight seeing or trekking on the Juneau Ice Field and it's many glaciers.
  • Day 5 - Skagway Alaska - Klondike Gold Rush!  Skagway has road access but it wasn't always like that!  During the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1800's, many men and pack animals lost their lives trying to climb over 2800 ft to the summit of White Pass to get to the gold fields.  In 1898 the White Pass Yukon Railroad was completed and access was forever changed.   In modern times, a road was built and Skagway has access to the "outside" and the railroad is a popular shore excursion while in port!
  • Day 6 - Sitka - awesome views on this outer island along the Inside Passage!
  • Day 7 - Hubbard Glacier cruising
  • Day 8 - Arrive Seward.  Transfers from Seward to Anchorage are by motor coach or upgrade to the train and with motor coach takes about 2.5 hours, train about 4 hours.

There are so many options! Specials change frequently so for more personalized service please call or email us with your preferences and we'll work with you to match you to the best experience! Or Compare large ship cruise prices and check availability here!
