Southeast Alaska Sampler

Day 1 - Arrive in Juneau - full afternoon in Juneau to shop or take a 1/2 day afternoon fishing  etc.  Overnight Juneau. 
Day 2  - Take the Alaska Marine Highway ferry to Skagway.  Overnight in Skagway at B&B.
Day 3 - Morning White Pass and Yukon Route narrow gauge rail excursion to the summit leaves at 8:30am for the 3 hour, narrated historical and scenic ride!  This afternoon, leave Skagway on the ferry at 4:15pm, arrive Juneau at 11:00pm (or a fast ferry may work, depends on exact date).  Overnight in Juneau. (or shorten the trip with a 45 minute flight by small plane, they leave almost every hour in small plane and cost about $75.00 per person..)  
Day 4 - afternoon jet flight to Wrangell, leaving at 4:32pm arriving at 6:02pm.  Upon arrival, be met and transferred to Bed and Breakfast. Rooms with bath that have water view of Zimovia Straits. Overnight.
Day 5 - At 9:00am, take off on an excursion to the Stikine River in a covered, heated jet boat. Your adventure takes you up the Stikine River, a beautiful, historic wilderness area.  (Trout fishing is also a possible idea here!) Explore tributaries and side sloughs and enjoy Shakes Lake where you will travel around icebergs and see one of natures wonders, Shakes Glacier.  5-6 hour trip by covered jet boat.  Overnight Wrangell.
Day 6 - Morning free to explore Wrangell.  Maybe rent a car and explore the island. The Petroglyph Beach is a short walk from downtown and there you can see the famous ancient rock carvings.  Afternoon jet flight to Ketchikan, leaving at 6:15pm arrive at 6:43pm.  Call the Narrows Inn before you leave the airport and they will pick you up "on the other side"  The airport in Ketchikan is on an island (Gravina)  and there is a ferry ride across to the "town side" (Revillagigedo).  Overnight.
Day 7 - Full day excursion to Misty Fjord National Monument.  This is a day cruise into an area of beauty.  (you will be so tired of beautiful things by now!! )  Overnight
Day 8 - day to explore Ketchikan.  Suggest renting a car and taking in the Totem Bight State Park and to the Saxman Native Village.  Both have large collection of totem poles and clan houses.  Native dance performances are held.  Visit the Southeast Alaska Visitor Center Native Traditions room has a great display on native peoples. Overnight
Day 9  - Today, leave for home!

Full trip, base price - the highlighted items (no fishing and use ferry Skagway to Juneau) $1659.00 per person, based on two sharing a room. Reservations are taken on a first come first served basis and not considered confirmed until a confirmation email is returned within 2 business days.  Transportation within Alaska is included but airfare to/from Alaska is not included.
